Heavenly Father, I praise You today for the opportunity to meet younger people in our church and talk to them. I praise You for Dallas’s willingness to listen and be prayed for. I praise You for the lessons You have taught me and for the wisdom I can pass on to each generation so that maybe they will not have to face some troubles I have seen and walked through.
Holy Spirit I come before You today and ask that You would instill in Dallas a double portion of Caleb’s spirit so that he can be unique and stand before You as a man of honor, courage, boldness, and wisdom. Help him to see giants as just obstacles where he has to lean on You for the strength and wisdom to defeat them. Help him to be bold and firm when those around him are taking bad advice, get scared, or shy from doing what is needed and right. Help Dallas to withstand the temptations that easily come from the abilities he has and demonstrates each week.
Holy Spirit help Dallas to be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on the full armor of God so that he can take his stand against the devil’s schemes. For his struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world, and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Dallas will put on the full armor of You have given him, so that when the day of evil comes, he may be able to stand his ground, and after he has done everything, to stand. Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist which holds the tools of wisdom, understanding, and discernment, with a breastplate of righteousness in place so that his heart remains protected and that he can absorb any attack and whether the blows he receives every week playing football and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace and that he may run with endurance and speed but also that he will be quick to remind others that he is Your child. In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God, the helmet helps protect his thoughts and focus and marks that he is a child of God. Let him renew his mind daily with prayer, good materials, music, and people who keep him accountable. Help him to learn Your word so that he has a tool to keep temptation and Satan at bay. Let the word feed, fuel, and inspire him to do more, be greater, and stronger like Caleb knowing all his talents, all his abilities, all his courage and strength come from You. Help Dallas learn to pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, he will be alert and always pray for all the saints. [Ephesians 6:10-18]
Bless Dallas today, put a hedge of protection around him, and keep him from sin and harm. Lead Dallas and help him learn to be a living sacrifice for You and that he is a living temple that needs to be maintained. Give Dallas confidence as You did Caleb and Joshua, but also help him learn to be humble. Thank You for Dallas's life. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
