Prepping to Face My Day

Heavenly Father as I rise this morning to face my day I will give You glory and honor. I praise You for giving me life and giving me a purpose. I praise You for all of Your creations and for the personal relationship You seek with all that Your hands have made. I praise You for Christ’s time here on the earth to lead us by example, give us insight into who You are, and be the ultimate sacrifice for my sins, and through His resurrection, I can accept salvation and become one of Your children. I praise You for the Holy Spirit coming and working within me daily and teaching me to live wisely and to seek You always.  

Holy Spirit a long time ago God asked Job: Have you ever in your life commanded the morning or assigned the dawn its place, so it may seize the edges of the earth and shake the wicked out of it? [Job 38:12&13] Considering this question and how I start my day, I come into the throne room with Your assistance and ask God to help me take command of my morning, to assign the dawn its place in my life and to seize my world by the edges and shake the wickedness out of it. I also ask that You assist me as I put on my armor today. As I begin today I will do my best to be strong in the Lord and His mighty power. I will put on my armor of God so that I can take my stand against the devil’s schemes. For my struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world, and the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Putting on the full armor of God, so that as the day of evil comes, I am able to stand my ground, and after I have done everything, to stand. Standing firm, I buckle my belt of truth around my waist, so that my integrity firmly holds my salvation, joy, and peace in place within my life. I will then put my breastplate of righteousness in place so that I use my understanding of Your word, and the discernment of Your Spirit to protect my heart from being destroyed or harmed. I will then put onto my feet the foundation and readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. In addition to all this, I will take up the shield of faith, which allows me to extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. I must remember the words of Paul and renew my mind daily so that I firmly have in place the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. My mind must allow the Spirit to speak and lead it. I must focus on what Your will is for me today so that I do not allow my mind to wonder and allow me to give into temptations or destructive thoughts that attempt to steal my joy, my resolve, or my confidence in the knowledge of being a child of the eternal King. I must pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, I will be alert and always keep on praying for all the saints. So that I stay connected to my brothers and sisters and support them in this daily battle we face called life. [Paraphrased to be personal from Ephesians 6:10-18] 

For this reason, I kneel before the Father, from whom his whole family in heaven and on earth derives its name. I pray that out of his glorious riches, he may strengthen me with power through His Spirit in my inner being, so that Christ may dwell in my heart through faith. And I pray that I, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the saints, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that I may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God. Now to Him who is able to do immeasurably more than all I ask or imagine, according to His power that is at work within me, to Him be glory, Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever!
