Heavenly Father I am so thankful You are a personable God. I am thankful that Christ taught us to think of You as the perfect Father. As I talk to You today I will be more relational than I am often lent to do when formally praying with others.
Holy Spirit thank You for bringing memories to me this week of doing puzzles and the wisdom that You showed me in those memories. I have fond memories of doing puzzles as a child with my mother and brother on snowy days when we could not go outside or when we were sick. I also remember my uncle who did puzzles and made them into pictures for his room. I enjoyed many times doing puzzles with my mother-in-law while having family chats and time together. I cherish the memories of doing puzzles at Christmas time with my wife and children even when they were adults. The thing about puzzles is that they are a good lesson to what we are. Each of us has been uniquely made to be our shape and fit, yet we interlock with each other to make a bigger picture of God’s kingdom. Together we make more than our individuality but don’t lose our uniqueness either. God touches each one of us and places us where we fit the best to make the best overall picture in life. 1 Corinthians 12:18—But now God has set the members, each one of them, in the body just as He pleased.
Help me to be the person I was created to be and to fulfill my purpose, but also help me to join with my brothers and sisters to make the family complete and strong. Only through unity, encouragement, humility, and love can we change our world and bring God’s kingdom to fruition here on earth.
Grace and peace will be multiplied to me through the knowledge of God and Jesus our Lord. His divine power has given to me all things that pertain to life and godliness through the knowledge of God who has called me to His glory and excellence, by which He has given to me exceedingly great and precious promises so that through these things I might become a partaker of the divine nature and escape the corruption that is in the world through lust. For this reason, help me to make every effort to add virtue to my faith; and to my virtue, knowledge, and to my knowledge, self-control; and to my self-control, patient endurance; and to my patient endurance, godliness; and to my godliness, brotherly kindness; and to my brotherly kindness love. For if all of these reside in me and abound, they will ensure that I will neither be useless nor unfruitful in the knowledge of Jesus Christ my Lord. Help me to diligently make my calling and election sure so that when I add all these areas into my life I will not stumble and will be able to enter into the eternal kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ which will be abundantly provided for me. In Jesus’ name, Amen. 2 Peter 1:3-11 MEV version
