Heavenly Father I praise You for today. I praise You for Your word and the truth that is in it. I praise You for the hope You gave us through Christ and His sacrifice in our place. I praise You for trusting us enough to include us in Your plans.
Holy Spirit Your word tells me: If I confess my sins, You are faithful and just and will forgive me of my sins and purify me from all unrighteousness. It also informs me: I live under the protection of the Most High and that I dwell in the shadow of the Almighty. My refuge and fortress that protects my mind, heart, spirit, and soul is found in the God I trust. You protect me from the traps of Satan and his forces, and You cover me like a bird protecting its’ eggs. Your faithfulness to me is my shield. I will not fear the terror of the night. Holy Spirit help me to: [the Message Version] Take my everyday. Ordinary life—my sleeping, eating, going to work, and walking-around life—and place it before God as an offering. Embracing what God does for me is the best thing I can do for him. I refuse to become so well adjusted to my culture that I fit into it without even thinking. Instead, I will fix my attention on God. I’ll be changed from the inside out. Readily recognize what he wants from me, and quickly respond to it. Unlike the culture around me, always dragging me down to its level of immaturity, God brings the best out of me and develops well-formed maturity in me. [Romans 12:1&2]
Humble yourselves under God’s mighty hand so that he may lift you up in due time. Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you. Be self-controlled and alert. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. Resist him, standing firm in the faith, because you know that your brothers throughout the world are undergoing the same kind of suffering. And the God of all grace, who called you to his eternal glory in Christ, after you have suffered a little while, will himself restore you and make you strong, firm, and steadfast. Help me to diligently make my calling and election sure so that when I add all of these areas into my life I will not stumble and will be able to enter into the eternal kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ which will be abundantly provided for me.
