I love the Lord because He hears my voice and my prayer for mercy. Because He bends down to listen, I will pray as long as I have breath! Death wrapped its ropes around me; the terrors of the grave overtook me. I saw only trouble and sorrow. Then I called on the name of the Lord: “Please, Lord, save me!” How kind the Lord is! How good He is! So merciful, this God of ours! The Lord protects those of childlike faith; I was facing death, and He saved me. [Psalm 116:1-6, NLT]
Holy Spirit, Your words say: My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge. Because you have rejected knowledge, I will reject you from serving as priest. Since you have forgotten the law of your God, I will also forget your sons. [Hosea 4:6] I do not want to be rejected because I did not seek or work to get knowledge. I not only want knowledge but wisdom and understanding so I can apply, use and benefit from knowledge. Help me gain wisdom, understanding, and knowledge to find the real gold and gems of life. Help me to use these to discern how to fulfill my purpose and use my talents wisely. Help me to use the knowledge of Your word to put on my armor and know my enemy and how to defend myself and my integrity while demonstrating victory through You. Help me to know how to stay in the center of Your will so that I am at the safest place in You.
Let me continually offer the sacrifice of praise to You, oh God, that is, the fruit of our lips, giving thanks to Your name. Help me to not forget to do good and to share, for with such sacrifices You are well pleased. I will do my best to obey those who rule over me and be submissive for they watch out for my soul, and they will give account for how they lead. Let them do so with joy and not with grief, for that would be unprofitable for me. For I am confident that I have a good conscience, in all things desiring to live honorably. But I especially am urged to do this. Now may the God of peace who brought up our Lord Jesus from the dead, that great Shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant, make me complete in every good work to do His will, working in me what is well pleasing in His sight, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory forever and ever. Amen (Hebrews 13:14-21)
