So Few Understood, is that True Now?

Heavenly Father I praise You for being patient with me when I don’t see the obvious. I praise You for allowing me to learn slowly Your wisdom. I praise You that You sent the Holy Spirit so that He can help me to open my eyes and begin to know what I should have understood from the beginning.

Holy Spirit help me to be like Simeon who sought to see Your rescue of all people. He was so focused on serving You and seeing things from Your view that Luke records, “and the Holy Spirit was upon him. It was revealed to him by the Holy Spirit that he would not die before he had seen the Lord’s Christ. Led by the Spirit, he came into the temple. And when the parents brought in the Child Jesus, to do for Him according to the custom of the law, he received Him in his arms and blessed God.” Simeon was so in tune with You that he even knew and said, “for my eyes have seen Your salvation which You have prepared in the sight of all people, a light for revelation to the Gentiles, and the glory of Your people Israel.” Simeon understood and seen that Christ would be for everyone not just the Israelites.

Holy Spirit help me to see the bigger picture when I need to, but not miss the simple things in front of me either. Help me to see the needs of my family, my neighbors and then my community and then my state. Help me to understand and serve each within the capacity of what You have given me to serve with. Help me to utilize the talents and gifts that You have given to me uniquely so that I can serve the body of Christ and the world around me. Help me to not miss the least of theses, but also not neglect my family.

Now to Him who is able to establish you according to my gospel and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery kept secret since the world began but now made manifest, and by the prophetic Scriptures made known to all nations, according to the commandment of the everlasting God, for obedience to the faith—to God, alone wise, be glory through Jesus Christ forever, Amen. (Romans16:25-27)
