Thanksgiving and Harvest

Heavenly Father I praise You for this time of year because it reminds me of when Christ told his disciples that the harvest was full but the workers were few. Help us to enjoy the harvest, and to enjoy a time to set aside to give thanks to You and to those we love.

Holy Spirit, help me to be grateful and content with what I have. Help me to continue to plant, work, and reap what I sow. Help me to invest in others with Your light, and love and forgiveness so that they can find their way to You. Help me to plant wisdom and Your word into others, so that they can claim Your promises for themselves. Help me to teach others how to pray Your word back to you so that they can be like the people placed on the walls of Jerusalem when it was written, “Isaiah 62:6&7(the Message)—I’ve posted watchman on your walls, Jerusalem. Day and night they keep at it, praying, calling out, reminding God to remember. They are to give him no peace until he does what he said until he makes Jerusalem famous as the City of Praise.” “Lamentations 2:19—Arise, cry out in the night, as the watches of the night begin; pour out your heart like water in the presence of the Lord. Lift up your hands to him for the lives of your children, who faint from hunger at the head of every street.”

Help me and all that pray with me to pour out our hearts and to set our eyes on You. Help us to be workers in the harvest and to be known as faithful servants to You. Help us to serve with all that we have so that all is reaped for Your glory and for Your kingdom. In this, I pray that I am found worthy of You, My Lord and King, Amen.
