Holy Spirit I praise You for today. I praise You for worship during my drive to work. I praise You for songs that lift my heart in praise to You. I praise You for books that make me grow in wisdom and I praise You for Your word as my go-to source for understanding Your heart.
Holy Spirit I am thankful for songs like “Hymn of Heaven” sung by Phil Wickham which talks about desiring to breathe the air of Heaven, walking with Jesus, and worshiping with a thousand generations of redeemed people giving God all the glory. I praise You for songs like “In the Room”, “Leaning”, and “Burning Heart of God” sung by Matthew Maher. These songs inspire me to desire to be where Your Spirit is just as when Jesus was here and the men lowered the man down through the roof to see Jesus.
I praise You that I can worship in song, words, deeds, and prayer. I am so thankful that I can come daily into the throne room where You, Christ are seated, through the Holy Spirit and lay my burdens, my petitions, my praise, my heart at Your feet. I desire the day I can see You face to face, but like Paul I will continue to serve You the best I can while I am here, breathing the air of earth. I will give all I have to make Your kingdom grow. Guide my words, my desires, my thoughts so that I am pushed closer to Your holiness. I know I am not perfect, but I can aspire to walk towards Your unblemished, perfect way. I am a child of Yours only because of the sacrifice You were willing to pay for my salvation. Help me to live up to Your expectations and fulfill what I was made for. My hope, faith and confidence reside in the simple truth You loved me enough to make me who I am and to use me to help with Your kingdom because of Your desire to have a relationship with me.
Therefore, by Him let us continually offer the sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of our lips, giving thanks to His name. But do not forget to do good and to share, for with such sacrifices God is well pleased. Obey those who rule over you, and be submissive for they watch out for your souls, as those who must give account. Let them do so with joy and not with grief, for that would be unprofitable for you. For we are confident that we have a good conscience, in all things desiring to live honorably. But I especially urge you to do this, …. Now may the God of peace who brought up our Lord Jesus from the dead, that great Shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant, make you complete in every good work to do His will, working in you what is well pleasing in His sight, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory forever and ever. Amen (Hebrews 13:14-21)
