Heavenly Father I praise You for today and through You I take command of my day in the morning seeking Your direction through Your Holy Spirit, facing my day with joy and confidence that my life is in the palm of Your hands and that I have not lost sight of reaching home that You have promised me. I rest assured in my salvation, and I grow confident in faith through Your word.
Holy Spirit Your word says: All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work. The words of the Lord are pure, like silver tried in a furnace of the earth, Purified seven times. We need to be doers of the word and not hearers only, so we do not deceive ourselves. But he who looks into the perfect law of liberty and continues in it, and is not a forgetful hearer but a doer of the work, this one will be blessed in what he does. But the righteousness of faith speaks in this way, “do not say in your heart, ‘Who will ascend into heaven?’” (that is, to bring Christ down from above) or, “‘Who will descend into the abyss?’” (that is, to bring Christ up from the dead). But what does it say? “The word is near you in your mouth and in your heart” (that is, the word of faith which we preach): that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart, one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth, confession is made unto salvation. For the Scripture says, “Whoever believes in Him will not be put to shame.” [2Timothy 3:16&17; Psalms 12:6; James 1:22&25; Romans 10: 6-11]
Your word is essential to how I pray, how I believe, and how I live. It is full of testimonies from where the faith grew to our generation and how salvation became our way of having fellowship with God once again. The word, which is and was inspired by the Holy Spirit for men to write is a living testament to those before and those who will come after us and how they should live and talk to God. I learn from the word what God expects of me and the hope that fuels my faith. I am not promised an easy road but I have an all-powerful God who cares about me, walks with me, and has eternity for my fulfillment.
The day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night, in which the heavens pass away with a great noise, and the elements will melt with fervent heat; both the earth and the works that are in it will be burned up. Therefore, since all these things will be dissolved, what manner of persons ought you to be in holy conduct and godliness, looking for and hastening the coming of the day of God, because of which the heavens will be dissolved, being on fire, and the elements will melt with fervent heat? Nevertheless we, according to His promise, look for new heavens and a new earth in which righteousness dwells. Therefore, looking forward to these things, be diligent to be found by Him in peace, without spot and blameless; and consider that the longsuffering of our Lord is salvation…but grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To Him be the glory both now and forever. Amen. 2 Peter 3:10-15&18
