Heavenly Father, as we near Easter, I continue to praise You for allowing Jesus to come to earth and become fully man and God. He fully embraced being a human, having to take time to pray to You and allow the Holy Spirit to work through Him just as we have to. I can not even grasp the pain, the anger, the suffering You must have had to endure to allow men to nail Jesus to a cross and kill him. Seeing your son die is something that will always torture my mind, so I can barely conceive what it must have been for you to allow it to happen. Your love for humanity, the love of Jesus for humanity, goes beyond any love we can conceive.
Your word tells us that there is no greater love than a man laying down his life for his friends. Christ took that a step further and lay down His life for all of humanity, whether they would accept the salvation from it or not. That power, that gift that came from the cross, is only half of the true gift of salvation. The resurrection of Christ completes the gift because it adds hope to eternity with God. I have known some people who could love unconditionally all people. I admire and try to be like them. I will admit that where I work, that is a very difficult thing to demonstrate at times.
Holy Spirit, since it is through You that we enter the throne room before Christ, I would like to put forth my praise, gratitude, and the humility that no matter how much I love God, it will never compare to the love He shows me every day. I am so thankful You see my heart and the why of who I am and why I do what I do. I am in awe that You would lay down Your life for someone as unworthy as I. Let the words I speak, the attitude I present, the actions I do before all people be worthy of You, my Savior and Redeemer so that I can walk circumspective of all with the character and heart of the love of Christ with the power and influence of the Holy Spirit in all that I do. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
