The Kind of Change People Notice

Heavenly Father I am an imperfect man. I praise You for not letting this interfere with having a relationship with me. I praise You for Your mercy, and forgiveness and for having Your Spirit continue to teach and move me to being the child You want me to be. I praise You for the fact that my salvation was never dependent upon my work or perfection.

Holy Spirit Your word clearly says: Put away lying, let every person speak truthfully with their neighbor, for we are members of one another. Be angry but do not sin. Do not let the sun go down on your anger. Do not give place to the devil. Let him who steals steal no more. Instead, let him labor, working with his hands things that are good, so that he may have something to share with those who are in need. Let no unwholesome word proceed out of your mouth, but only that which is good for building up, that it may give grace to the listeners. And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, in whom you are sealed for the day of redemption. Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, outbursts, and blasphemies, with all malice, be taken away from you. And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, just as God in Christ also forgave you. [Ephesians 4:25-32]

Holy Spirit help me to always speak the truth, control or abate my anger, and control my tongue from saying words that are unwholesome or cutting. Help me to not be sarcastic for this is just an excuse to put someone down. Help me never to grieve Your Spirit. Help me to continually offer up my life as a living sacrifice dying out to my own will and sinful desires. Help me to renew my mind daily with Your word, wisdom, knowledge, understanding, and discernment so that I can give up my claims to bitterness, wrath, anger, outbursts, cussing, blasphemies, and malice towards any and all people for it is no longer my right or place to put judgment onto others or to hold them accountable to my perceptions of wrong for God has forgiven me of much worse than any man can do to me. Help me to learn to live life by demonstrating kindness, peace of mind, patience, love, and joy whenever I have an opportunity or can do so to others. This is not an easy thing for me or my nature but I have allowed You to take away my old man and replace him with a new spirit to serve You out of love and loyalty. Guide my mind, thoughts, emotions, and desires to stand worthy of Your righteousness.

I thank my God always concerning the grace of God which was given to me by Christ Jesus, that I am enriched in everything by Him in all utterance and all knowledge, even as the testimony of Christ was confirmed in me, so that I come short in no gift, eagerly waiting for the revelation of our Lord Jesus Christ, who will also confirm me to the end, that I may be blameless in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ. God is faithful, by whom I am called into the fellowship of His Son, Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen. [1Corinthians 1:4-9]
