The Mighty One, God, the Lord, El Elohim Jehovah

“The Mighty One, God, the Lord [El Elohim Jehovah], the Mighty One, God, the Lord! He knows, and may Israel itself know. If it was in rebellion, or if in an unfaithful act against the Lord do not save this day!” [Joshua 22:22] For I give to You, all praise and glory forever and forever.

Holy Spirit as I pray through the names of God, help me to realize that sometimes my language falls very short of the expression of other languages. I also realize that giving God glory transcends any and all languages. It is with trust and faith that I know that God is El Elohim Jehovah because often I need Him to be much mightier than what I am facing or what the world as a whole is facing. I put my faith in that no one is mightier than You.

When I look at Creation, I realize that You must be mighty to make so much out of nothing. I also realize that I have nothing to fear because of Your mighty hand, not Satan nor any other. Your mighty hand has protected Your children for many years and generations. “Bless the Lord, O my soul; and all that is within me, bless His holy name! Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all His benefits; who forgives all your iniquities, who heals all your diseases, who redeems your life from the pit, who crowns you with lovingkindness and tender mercies, who satisfies your mouth with good things, so that your mouth is renewed like the eagle’s. The Lord does righteousness and justice for all who are oppressed.” [Psalms 103:1-3]

We always thank God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, when we pray for you, because we have heard of your faith in Christ Jesus and of the love you have of all the saints—the faith and love that spring from the hope that is stored up for you in heaven and that you have already heard about in the word of truth, the gospel that has come to you. All over the world this gospel is bearing fruit and growing, just as it has been doing among you since the day you heard it and understand God’s grace in all its truth….For this reason, since the day we heard about you, we have not stopped praying for you and asking God to fill you with the knowledge of his will through all spiritual wisdom and understanding. And we pray this in order that you may live a life worthy of the Lord and may please him in every way: bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God, being strengthened with all power according to his glorious might so that you may have greater endurance and patience, and joyfully giving thanks to the Father, who has qualified you to share in the inheritance of the saints in the kingdom of light. For he has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of the Son he loves, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins. Amen. Colossians 1:3-14
