The Word

Heavenly Father I praise You for today and for just breathing and living. I praise You for the wonders I have witnessed throughout my life and the ones I see daily. I praise You for being fearfully wonderfully made even though the world judges me less than beautiful, intelligent, skillful, or significant. I am significant in Your eyes. You offered me the gift of salvation and desire to have a relationship with me. You see my heart and know my desires and dreams. You love me so differently than the world could ever conceive of loving. Help me to take command of my morning and shake the evil from it.

Holy Spirit You inspired John to write: “The Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we saw His glory, the glory as the only Son of the Father, full of grace and truth.” “He was clothed with a robe dipped in blood, and His name is called ‘The Word of God.’” In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through Him, and without Him, nothing was made that was made. In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness does not comprehend it. [John 1:14; Revelations 19:13; John 1:1-5] Your Word, Christ is my salvation, my rock, my light, and my hope to live in a world where there is only chaos, darkness, and death. I live, I breathe because the Spirit lives within me giving me the Light from creation to live by and I drink deeply of the living water so that my Spirit can sing and rejoice in the Lord all day long as I learn to live the way I was created to live.

The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of His hands. Day after day they pour forth speech; night after night they display knowledge. There is no speech or language where their voice is not heard. Their voice goes out into all the earth, their words to the ends of the world. In the heavens, He has pitched a tent for the sun, which is like a bridegroom coming forth from his pavilion, like a champion rejoicing to run his course. It rises at one end of the heavens and makes its circuit to the other nothing is hidden from its heat. The law of the Lord is perfect reviving the soul. The statutes of the Lord are trustworthy, making wise the simple. The precepts of the Lord are right giving joy to the heart. The commands of the Lord are radiant, giving light to the eyes. The fear of the Lord is pure, enduring forever. The ordinances of the Lord are sure and altogether righteous. They are more precious than gold than much pure gold, they are sweeter than honey than honey from the comb. By them is your servant warned; in keeping them there is great reward. Who can discern his errors? Forgive my hidden faults. Keep your servant also from willful sins; may they not rule over me. Then will I be blameless, innocent of great transgression. May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be pleasing in your sight, O Lord, my Rock, and my Redeemer. Let this Psalm be the blueprint for my life. In Jesus’ name, Amen. [Psalms 19]
