Heavenly Father, I praise You for being our Father, Creator, and God of all. I praise You for the trinity with Christ our Savior, redeemer and currently our intercessor. I praise You for the Holy Spirit, our comforter, our guide, our mentor, and our way to the throne room. I praise You for giving us the word to help instruct us, guide us, show us testimonies of those before us, and let us have a glimpse of who You are.
Holy Spirit, as I face today, I know that the greatest weapon the enemy uses against us is lies or half truths. Satan used scripture to tempt Jesus, but he twisted it to his goals. Christ used the word to deflect Satan’s attempts and to keep His focus on what was right and expected of Him by God the Father. We too, need to meditate, study and understand the word so that it can be our greatest defense against the lies of this world. The world tells me I am a random coincidence, while Your word tells me that I was uniquely made by You and for You. The world tells me that I have rights and that no one can dictate how I live. Your word offers salvation and
guidelines on how to live a life that will lead to eternity. The world says I have a right to hate, Your word tells me I should love. The world constantly seeks revenge, Your word says that You will take on the revenge and for us to leave it alone and learn to forgive. The world says that the only way to be happy is to be rich, powerful, and famous.. You tell me to be humble, that I am loved, I am Your child, and I have eternity waiting for me as long as I choose this path and become Your living temple. IF I truly follow Paul’s advice and become a living sacrifice, renewing my mind with the word, with testimonies, with remembrance of what You have done, then I am able to reject temptation for it has no place in my life. Let truth be in my heart and balance it with love and forgiveness so that I can proudly declare I am a child of the King.
Since I am receiving a kingdom that cannot be moved, let me be gracious, by which I may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear. For God, You are my consuming fire. I will perpetuate brotherly love to continue. I will not forget to entertain strangers, knowing that, at times, that has
meant entertaining Angels unknowingly. I will remember those who have been imprisoned around the world for their faith and join with them in prayer and solidarity. I will stand with and remember those who have been abused, berated, or beaten because of being a child of God and will identify with them no matter the cost. I will honor my marriage and keep my bed undefiled. I will let God judge the sexually immoral and adulterers. I will use money but never love it or desire it so that it never interferes with my devotion to God. I will learn to be content with what I have for I know Your word says, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.” So that I can always boldly proclaim, “The Lord is my helper; I will not fear, what can man do to me?” I will remember those who rule over me, who have proclaimed to me the word of God. I will follow their faith, considering the results it has produced in their lives. Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever. In Jesus’ name I anchor my salvation, amen.
