Trying to Learn to be Holy

Heavenly Father I praise You today for the grace, mercy, and love You have provided me over the years. I praise You that I can live with hope and faith every day I wake up and face life in this world. I also praise You for providing Your Word to help me gain wisdom, knowledge, understanding, and discernment.

Holy Spirit You have told me in Your word: “For I am the Lord your God. You shall therefore consecrate yourselves, and you shall be holy; for I am holy. And you shall be holy to Me, for I the Lord am holy, and have separated you from the peoples, that you should be Mine. Therefore, gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and rest your hope fully upon the grace that is to be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ. But as He who called you is holy, you also be holy in all your conduct. You are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His special people, that you proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light; who once were a people but are now the people of God, who had not obtained mercy but now have obtained mercy. For to this, you were called, because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that you should follow His steps.” [Leviticus 11:44; Leviticus 20:26; 1Peter 1:13; 1 Peter 1:15; 1 Peter 2:9&10; 1 Peter 2:21]

Teach me to walk in the steps and ways of Jesus, the disciples, and all the saints who have lived before me and the ones I live with now. Help me to walk as a humble, living sacrifice, wearing my spiritual armor so that I can fulfill the purpose You created me for, live peaceably with others as best I can, and be the witness of Your salvation that is offered to all who will accept and believe. In Jesus’ name, amen.
