Understanding and Living the Wisdom of Your Servants

Heavenly Father I praise You for today. I praise You for caring enough for me to send Your Spirit to dwell within me and help me build this living temple into the person You want me to be. I am thankful that I have been allowed to witness miracles and wonders in my life so when I see brokenness, heartache, evil, and sin I can remember that You still have a hand in our world.

Holy Spirit James wrote to ask You for wisdom, this I seek daily. Paul wrote to put on our spiritual armor, grow the fruits of the spirit, renew our minds, offer ourselves as living sacrifices (dying out to ourselves), learn how to develop and use our spiritual gifts and know that salvation is the starting point of refining us into a righteous person for Your glory. Peter wrote to be prepared to defend our faith, hope, and love for You, and to keep an out for when You come for us. John wrote that we need to live, breathe, and demonstrate love so that the world will know we are Yours. Christ warned us that we would not have it easy and that our faith would be tested and assaulted by Satan and the world around us.

Help me to grow and learn to take all this in and incorporate it into my life so that I am sold out, shaken up, overflowing in love and forgiveness, and bold and courageous enough to face all that is thrown at me because I understand that my strength is not the issue. Still, my faith is in You, and I survive by Your strength. Let me live and fulfill my purpose so that someday I will hear: Thou good and faithful servant, welcome home.

The day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night, in which the heavens pass away with a great noise, and the elements will melt with fervent heat; both the earth and the works that are in it will be burned up. Therefore, since all these things will be dissolved, what manner of persons ought you to be in holy conduct and godliness, looking for and hastening the coming of the day of God, because of which the heavens will be dissolved, being on fire, and the elements will melt with fervent heat? Nevertheless we, according to His promise, look for new heavens and a new earth in which righteousness dwells. Therefore, looking forward to these things, be diligent to be found by Him in peace, without spot and blameless; and consider that the longsuffering of our Lord is salvation…but grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To Him be the glory both now and forever. Amen. 2 Peter 3:10-15&18
