Understanding How Our Prayers Reach Jesus Our Advocate
Understanding How Our Prayers Reach Jesus Our Advocate
"You,Lord, laid the foundation of the earth in the beginning, and the heavens are
the works of Your hands. They will perish, but You remain; and they all will
wear out like a garment; as a cloak You will fold them up, and they will be
changed. But You are the same, and Your years will not end. But to which of the
angels did He at any time say: ‘Sit at My right hand, until I make Your enemies
Your footstool? Are they not all ministering spirits sent out to minister to
those who will inherit salvation?’”
HolySpirit, You, inspired the author of Hebrews to write, “Since we have a great
High Priest who has passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold
firmly to our confession. For we do not have a High Priest who cannot
sympathize with our weaknesses, but One who was in every sense tempted like we
are, yet without sin. Let us then come with confidence to the throne of grace,
that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.” “We have
confidence to enter the Most Holy Place by the blood of Jesus, by a new and
living way that He has opened for us through the veil, that is to say, His
flesh, and since we have a High Priest over the house of God, let us draw near
with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled to
cleanse them from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water.
Let us firmly hold the profession of our faith without wavering, for He who
promised is faithful. And let us consider how to spur one another to love and
to good works. Let us not forsake the assembling of ourselves together, as is
the manner of some, but let us exhort one another, especially as you see the
Day approaching.”
HolySpirit I come to Your throne room and petition before You asking for healing
for my Aunt Neoma, Kayla, James, and many others who are suffering in our
churches with disease, cancer, broken bones and other illnesses. I pray for the changing of the hearts in ourchurch so that people will not fear the chaos of this world but become bold in
their faith and hope that You are in control and that this is not our home,
only our temporary building of the kingdom that is Yours. Help us to be ready for whatever comes outway and to share one another’s burdens so that we can stand united to present
You, our salvation. We give You all theglory and praise, in Jesus’ name, Amen!
