Victory in Jesus

Heavenly Father I praise You for not only being the creator, the author of who we are and for inspiring man to write Your word so we could learn who You are and gain wisdom. I praise Jesus for not only salvation, but for being my advocate and praying and singing over me. I praise the Holy Spirit who supplies wisdom, comfort, and direction. I praise You for being the beginning and the end of all things.

Holy Spirit I am so empowered by Paul’s letter to the Corinthians when he wrote, “Listen, I tell you a mystery: We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed. In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet, for the trumpet will sound, the dead will be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. For this corruptible will put on the incorruption, and this mortal will put on immortality. When this corruptible will have put on incorruption, and this mortal will have put on immortality, they the saying that is written shall come to pass: ‘Death is swallowed up in Victory.’ ‘O death, where is your sting? O grave, where is your victory?’ The sting of death is sin, and the strength of sin is the law. But thanks to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ! Therefore, my beloved brothers [and sisters], be steadfast, unmovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor in the Lord is not in vain.” [1Cor.15:51-58]

Holy Spirit when I am weary, when I am grieving my son’s death, when I am frustrated with others apathy, when I am worn from my spiritual battles, when I struggle working out my own salvation, remind me that I have victory through Jesus Christ my savior. I am an adopted child of God, not because of what I have done but because of what Christ has done for me. Help me to pray with the fierceness of the knowledge that through Christ I am more than a conqueror and I have the right to enter the throne room and present my petitions to Jesus. I will always pray for healing, miracles, wonders, defeating the enemy, for families, and for the loss, I will pray with the belief that through God nothing is impossible, but with the reality as Christ gave the example in the garden, “Not my will, Father, but Yours be done.” For I know who sets on the throne. I know whom I believe in and I am assured of my salvation through His death and resurrection and know that I do not know the mind of God and that is okay. God is God, and I am not. In this truth I put all my faith and trust in Him that eventually I will understand why even if I have to wait until I reach heaven. I put my faith in Jesus, because where else would I go, or to whom would I lean on that would not fail me but the love of God. Amen. Amen.
