Walking In The Spirit

Heavenly Father, I praise You for today. I praise You for the sunrise, the daylight, the evening and the night. I praise You for Your creation that we call nature. I praise You for all the variety You provide to our lives. I praise You for the beauty of a sunrise or sunset, for days when we have storms and rain. I praise You for seasons and planting and harvest. Most of all I praise You for making us with a purpose, unique and free to make decisions with the ability to listen to the Holy Spirit and follow Your wisdom and design.

Holy Spirit help me to heed Paul’s inspired advice when he said, “My brothers and sisters, we are called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the flesh; rather, serve one another humbly in love. For the entire law is fulfilled in keeping this one command: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ If you bite and devour each other, watch out or you will be destroyed by each other. So I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh. For the flesh desires what is contrary to the Spirit, and the Spirit what is contrary to the flesh. They are in conflict with each other, so that you are not to do whatever you want. But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law.”

Holy Spirit help me to desire to listen, follow, and act upon what You whisper to me each day. Help me to trust You when making decisions and how to talk or react to people. Lead me to accomplish my purpose in life. Help me to serve my neighbor and to not devour the brothers and sisters who also follow You. Help me to use my freedom to better serve God and not myself or man. Help me to take one step at a time and learn to walk upright with my faith and hope in You.

“Let me not become weary in doing good for at the proper time I will reap a harvest if I do not give up. As I have opportunity, let me do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers.” In Jesus’ precious name, amen.
