Heavenly Father I praise You for the freedom we enjoy in our country to still pray, speak and stand for what we believe. We are still allowed to worship without worry of jail or worse. Help us to appreciate what we have when so many others do not enjoy this luxury.
Holy Spirit God spoke to Isaiah and said, “For my house shall be called a house of prayer for all nations. The Lord God, who gathers the outcasts of Israel, says, “Yet I will gather to him others besides those who are gathered to him.” [Isaiah 56:7&8] We as Your people stand united in prayer, asking for safety and resolution for the people in Ukraine, especially our brothers and sisters in You. We unite to pray that You would step in and stop this bloodshed and aggression despite the stupidity of leaders who twiddle their thumbs and do nothing to put an end to it.
Holy Spirit we ask that You would help us to become a true power house of prayer for all people in the world so that we can honor Jesus and spread the good news to all people everywhere. We ask for prayer to be so full of unity and faith that the very foundations of these strongholds would be shaken to the core. We pray that You would raise up leaders who trust in You and value Your wisdom. We pray for mercy for the people in the Ukraine, the churches in China and in the Middle East.
Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have received from God. For just as the sufferings of Christ flow over into our lives, so also through Christ our comfort overflows. If we are distressed, it is for your comfort and salvation; if we are comforted, it is for your comfort, which produces in you patient endurance of the same sufferings we suffer. (2Corinthians 1:3-7)
Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. Holy Spirit help us to bear with each other and forgive whatever grievances we may have against one another. Teach us to forgive as the Lord forgave us. And over all these virtues help us to put on love which binds them all together in perfect unity. Let the peace of Christ rule in our hearts, since as members of one body we are called to peace. Let us be thankful. Let the word of Christ dwell in us richly as we teach and admonish one another with all wisdom, and as you sing psalms, hymns and spiritual songs with gratitude in our hearts to God. And whatever we do, whether in word or deed, help us to do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him. Amen. Colossians 3:12-17
