What Are You Rich In

Heavenly Father I praise You today for allowing me to take my grandchildren to church and have a chance to be in Your house with Your people. I praise You that I have a church where I can go to and feel a part of and feel encouraged and sharpened for my walk. I praise You that my church is trying to do good and learn to love and serve people while growing. Help me today to take command of my morning and allow You to shake the evil from it.

Holy Spirit help me to echo and live what Paul wrote to Timothy which was inspired by You: Let me seek godliness with contentment for that is truly gain in life. I was brought into this world with nothing and I will leave with nothing as I go before God. Help me to be content that I have food, clothing, and shelter to live. Help me to be wise in how I use money but never let me love, desire, or, put it in place of You and my salvation. I do not and shall not desire to have the money others have, I will appreciate the blessings You have given me in my life. I will follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, and gentleness while I fight the good fight of faith. I will lay hold of eternal life, to which I am called and have professed often before all kinds of people in my life. I will warn and teach when You provide the opportunity to those who are rich not to trust in those riches nor let them own them. But to be wise and to use what God has blessed them with to do good works, learn to be generous, willing to share, and most of all lay up what is important in life like their salvation and their walk with Christ. Help me to recognize those I associate with the importance of salvation and serving God with any resources he blesses me with to grow His kingdom and to put my faith and trust in God not what I own or what I can earn. [1 Timothy 6:6-19, my paraphrase]

Holy Spirit I seek to live life as fully as I can while I walk this earth. I do not seek to cause harm to others and to live as peaceably with others as I can. Help me to grow, to enlarge my territory, but not at the expense of others. Teach me to be generous but also wise. Help me to be useful to You and to my neighbors. Most of all help me to remember how blessed I am, how You have taken care of me through all times whether good or bad. Help me to testify of what You have done in my life and for my family any chance I get. Help me to be wise to live standing on a firm foundation with resolve to not add to the chaos of this world but to be an example of the peace and joy You can help a person to have and to live righteously. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
