Heavenly Father, I praise You for opening my eyes through others and through books. I praise You for the testimonies of others, which are encouragement that You are kind. I praise You for the air I breathe and that I am still alive even though I have faced death more than once.
Holy Spirit help me to build my faith so I can be like Joshua and Caleb when they said, “Let us go up at once and possess it, for we are able to overcome it.” (Numbers 13:30) Or, like Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego when they told the dictator Nebuchadnezzar that God was able to deliver them but even if he didn’t choose too, they still would serve God over man or themselves. Help me to be like Daniel and have steadfast faith and exercise that despite a law saying he could not pray to God or face the consequences of being throne into the den of lions he continued to pray to God. He did not know that God would deliver him, only that he had put all his trust in God no matter the cost.
Holy Spirit help me to be as determined as Paul to express my faith even if it means stoning, prison, ridicule, shipwreck, snake bites and eventually execution. Paul still wrote letters of encouragement to the different churches while imprisoned in Rome. Help me and all those who pray with me the courage to put our faith into You and live with whatever consequences we receive for it.
Holy Spirit I bring Sarah, a single mother of three, who is fighting a losing battle in ICU as her organs shut down. We pray for healing for her, we also pray that if that is not Your choice You will find someone who can take her children and raise them with love and wisdom from You. I also bring Jim before You for healing. He is now being given an experimental nuclear drug to see if it will heal him from cancer. I know You are able to heal him, but I don’t know if it is Your will to heal him. I can only petition Your throne for these healings which I believe in You to heal them.
For this reason, I kneel before the Father, from whom his whole family in heaven and on earth derives its name. I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the saints, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God. Now to Him who is able, to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to His power that is at work within us, to Him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever!
