Heavenly Father, I praise You for today and for helping me when I get frustrated by life's lack of smoothness. I praise You for being a loving enough Father to allow me to struggle but also a counselor who can help me navigate life. Help me to take command of my morning and shake all the evil from it.
Holy Spirit give me wisdom and discernment for today so that I can be the person I should be and represent Christ as best as I am created to do. Help me to listen, think, and do as Solomon advised and be slow to anger. Help me to not allow the little things in life to sap my joy, or get me so frustrated I speak poorly, react too soon, or miss the bigger picture. Help me to be a wise, humble but proficient leader whether at work, at home, or out in the community. Let my words be acceptable before You, let my focus be on what it should be on, let me take care of the responsibilities I have for the day and finish tasks that are expected of me. Help me to give good counsel but only when asked or needed. Let me dig into Your word and continue to learn and grow. Help me to find my joy again and to rest at night with the hope and faith You have built within me. Help me to be a clean temple ready for Your use.
I pray and ask that I may be filled with the knowledge of Your will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding; that I may walk worthy of You, fully pleasing, being fruitful in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of You; strengthened with all might, according to Your glorious power, for all patience and longsuffering with joy; giving thanks to the Father who has qualified me to be a partaker of the inheritance of the saints in the light. You have delivered me from the power of darkness and conveyed me into the kingdom of the Son of Your love, in whom I have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins. You are the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation. For by You, all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things were created through You for You. And You are before all things, and in You, all things exist. And You are the head of the body, the church, who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in all things You may have the preeminence. In Your blessed Son Jesus’ name, Amen. (Colossians 1:9-18)
