Who Are You Praying For?

“Praise be to the name of God for ever andever; wisdom and power are His. Hechanges times and seasons; He sets up kings and deposes them. He gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge tothe discerning. He reveals deep and hiddenthings; He knows what lies in darkness, and light dwells with Him. I thank and praise You, O God of my fathers; You have given me wisdom and power, you have made known to me what we asked of
you….

Paultaught Timothy to pray this way, “I Urge that petitions, prayers,
intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for everyone, for kings and all those
who are in authority, (like mayors, principals, governors, presidents etc….) so
that we may lead a tranquil and quiet life in all godliness and dignity. This
is good, and it pleases God our Savior, who want everyone to be saved and to
come to the knowledge of the truth. Therefore, I want the people in every place
to pray, lifting up holy hands without anger or argument.” Holy Spirit teach me how to pray for thosewho are in authority over me. Help me topray for their salvation and for them to be faithful to You. Help me to focus
on their soul and the value they have for being Your creation. Help me to pray with sincerity andhonesty.

HolySpirit I praise You for influencing the Supreme Court to correct an error they
made in 1970’s. Our Constitution is notperfect, but it is the law of our federal government and to be observed that
way. The case that allowed abortion tobe federally legal in all states was not based on any amendments with any
truth. Now it is in the hands of thestates to do what is right. Whether Iagree with people on their stance when comes to abortion or not I must always
pray for their salvation and show no less or more favoritism towards them for
they are still Your creation with free will.

HolySpirit I first pray for the leaders in my small community, the mayor, the
superintendent, principal, the fire chief and the head of police. I also pray for my governor and thelegislature that they will make just laws and decisions. I pray for my senators
and house representatives in Washington to also do what is right and for their
salvation. Finally, I pray for myPresident, though I often disagree with him, he still has a soul, and he has
one of the hardest jobs in our country. I pray that You open his eyes to the truth, not politics.

HolySpirit I pray for my nation, and I pray that we can right the ship from
corruption and sinfulness that we have promoted while demeaning You and Your
principles. I pray that our nation will turn their eyes back to You for their
hope and for their salvation so we can once again be a favored nation in Your
eyes. Help us to support not impugn Israel and to stand against the injustices
of many other countries.

Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts onthings above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Set your minds
on things above, not on earthly things. For you died, and your life is now
hidden with Christ in God. When Christ, who is your life, appears, then you
also will appear with him in glory. Butthe Lord is faithful, who will establish you and guard you from the evil one.
And we have confidence in the Lord concerning you, both that you do and will do
the things we command you. Now may theLord direct your hearts into the love of God and into the patience of Christ. In Jesus’ name, amen.
