Heavenly Father I praise You for Your word and all the wisdom we can learn from it. I thank You for the comfort Your word brings to me as a person parched who is handed a glass of cool refreshing water. I praise You for Your Holy Spirit which comforts me as when I hold my granddaughter at night before she can go to sleep. I praise You for teaching me how much You love me.
Holy Spirit teach me the wisdom from Jesus’ words when he said, “I am sending you out as sheep in the midst of wolves. Be wise as serpents and harmless as doves. But beware of men, for they will deliver you up to councils, and they will scourge you in their synagogues. You will be brought before governors and kings for My sake, for a testimony against them and the Gentiles. But when they deliver you up, take no thought of how or what you will speak. For it will be given you at that time what you will speak. For it is not you who speak, but the Spirit of your Father who speaks through you.” [Matt. 10:16-20]
Holy Spirit help me to speak the truth by living the truth. Help me to speak with love by having love in my heart. Let me demonstrate compassion because I desire compassion from You. Show me how to desire Your ways so that I give up my ways and become more in line with you. Give me joy that goes well beyond happiness and help me to be grounded firmly in Your word and wisdom so that I am prepared to explain my hope that lays within me.
Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in Your sight, O Lord, my rock and my savior. [Psa. 19:14]. Let my heart always be thankful for Your salvation and resurrection, no matter the trials I face in life. Let my light shine so the world around me can see You better.
